Product Description |
| Simon XTTM is a cost-effective security system that offers up to 40 zones of burglary and fire protection, and which complies with SIA False Alarm Standards. With a built-in display touchpad and a status speaker that provides visual and voice messages for feedback, Simon XT is well suited for houses, apartments, and condominiums. The Simon XT panel comes standard with 40 wireless zones, or it can be set up with 38 wireless zones and two built-in hardwired supervised burglary zones (normally-closed loop only). The built-in radio receiver works with both crystal and SAW LearnModeTM sensors.Simon XT supports off-premises telephone control to arm and disarm the system, check system status, activate no-entry delay, or activate the latchkey feature. With latchkey capabilities, the panel can be programmed to notify customers if the system has not been disarmed at a scheduled time.Simon XT supports convenient system operation from anywhere within the premises with the use of wireless touchpads. Choose from the Remote Handheld Touchpad, two-, four-, or five-button crystal or SAW Keychain Touchpads (keyfobs), or two-button ELM Keychain Touchpad. ELM (encrypted LearnMode) technology secures every keychain touchpad transmission. When powered by the optional line carrier transformer, adding X10-based modules lets customers control lights, appliances, and other devices.Simon XT can send messages to a central monitoring station using SIA or Contact ID (CID) formats. The panel can also report alarms to another land-line phone location or cell phone using Voice Event Notification. Built-in two-way voice capability with VOX (voice-activated switching) provides additional security and emergency contact with the control monitoring station. |

ADT vs Bay Alarm vs FrontPointSecurity Winner FrontPoint !
|

| Reviewer: Leonard Eng, |
Living in the Bay Area you would expect ADT and Bay Alarm to be one of the best deals since they are the main players but ! ADT tried to screw me for $1900 for a third rate system ! Never will I ever recommend ADT again ! Worst ever ! Bay Alarm was not bad for the price but customer service was sub par.
What I learned is that there are 2 basic systems Honeywell (lynx) is pretty good but VERY hard to program OR GE Simon XT which is VERY user friendly and easy to program. You can search youtube for videos and ebay for the deals but then it boils down to Monitoring.
Both Systems you can use the land-line to call to check on the system statue but If the Burglar cuts the line or power goes out your screwed. Go with Cellular they can't cut the phone line !
Monitoring ... you can go without paying on both but they what's the point, That is my point and why I went with FrontPointSecurity.
Their monitoring is interactive. I can check on my cell or internet oh how my house is doing @ ANYTIME ! Other companies charge you an arm and leg for this feature.
Bottom line, GE Simon XT is a great system to install, Battery backup can be Mod. to add more batteries (daisy chained for longer backup power) Can use both Landline and Cellular for interaction and ALL wireless ! Peace of Mind !

| I love this thing. It will do so much and is very configurable. The cost of accessories is kind of high but comes with enough for us for now. It was also a little hard to get set up good but if you really read the directions well and that makes it a little easier. |

| If you get this product you had better have some experience with setup on the GE Smarthome products. The instructions are for the rocket scientist with previous knowledge. The instructions are, Just buy this product and find out for your self. The actual equipment and operation, this is my second GE Smarthome product. After installing and implementing setup, all is well. Also no body to call and talk to about your problem. [...] GOOD LUCK |

| This alarm system is complicated and if some functions arn't working you need support. This company does not off support. The try to send you to another company with a similar name to get support and that doesn't work. |
